Learn the Foundations of Turning Upside Down

This 3 hour workshop will take you through an exciting journey of inversions and arm balances. You will discover everything you need to know to turn your practice upside down.
Balancing on our feet can be challenging and tricky at the best of times and when we turn upside down and stand on our hands thats a whole other story, it can be scary and daunting but also extremely exciting.
This workshop will give you the skills and confidence to challenge yourself and give you some tools to take back into class with you.
Why Turn Upside Down?
Inversions are wonderful for defying gravity and helps drain fuild from the legs.
Even though you will feel your heart beat faster inversion rest the heart and promote more efficient exchange of gases in the lungs.
On mental and emotional levels, inversions help you to overcome fear, trusting your own abilities and trying new things are all lessons that can be applied to life
What Can I expect from the Workshop?
The workshop will start with flowing sun saluations to warm the body up, inversions require a certain amount of hip, shoulder and back flexibility so we'll start with a famailiar vinyasa practise warm-up to prepare the body and mind for both simple and more challenging inversions so we can approach them with confidence and curiosty in your practice.
We will work on crow, headstand, shoulderstand and handstand. You will learn how to build up to these poses safely and build your confidence to trust yourself. And you will discover the power of your core.
This smaller group workshop will provide a greater opportunity for hands on adjustments and assistance. You'll have the opportunity to gain insight into challenges that you may face physically in your body, whether through injury, muscle tightness or muscle weakness.

Who is this Workshop Recommended For?
It is suitable for all levels, however it is advised that you have a some yoga experience of at least a few months. It is recommended that you have some body awareness.
As long as you come with an open mind and you want to try something new and have some fun while building strenght and flexibility into your inverted yoga practice this workshop is for you.
